Product Development

Two days workshop on “Design Thinking to Business Model Innovation and Product
Development: Practical Insights and Lessons Innovations & Entrepreneurship” was held at

NIPER Guwahati on 27 and 28 February 2020. This was a program sponsored by BIRAC,

under BRTC Design Workshop series-I, by BRTC KIIT-TBI, Bhubaneswar. The program was
attended by the faculty, students and researchers of NIPER-Guwahati, IIT-Guwahati, NEHU-
Shillong and other nearby institutes, start-ups and innovators from different places in and
around Guwahati.
Speakers:

 Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO- KIIT TBI, discussed on the Fostering Innovations &
Entrepreneurship in North East.
 Sri Satish Kalme, CEO and co Founder, Comofi Medtech Pvt Ltd delivered his talk on
“Design for prototyping (Visual appeal, user friendliness, packaging, affordability,
appropriateness, performance, sustainability)”

 Dr Namrata Misra, Head - Bioinnovation, KIIT-TBI, presented the BRTC vision &
Funding Opportunities for NER.
 Shri Dhananjay Banthia, gave a speech on the topic entitled “Design Thinking:
Towards a coherent Business Plan”
 Dr. Ravindra B Ghooi, delivered an important speech on “Design for regulations, safety
(Guidelines and Approvals)”

 Dr. Pankaj Upadhyay, Assistant Professor, IIT Guwahati gave a presentation on
“Product Design”
 Dr Vinita Jindal, Senior Manager, IP and Technology, BIRAC presented a detail
speech on “BIRAC: Enabling Bioincubation Ecosystem”.
