Department of Pharmacy Practice
The Department of Pharmacy Practice is one of five academic departments within the NIPER-
Guwahati. Department of Pharmacy practice is an interdisciplinary department with faculty
engaged in practice and teaching across disciplines encompassing clinical, basic, and social
sciences.
Department faculty and research staff are dedicated to continuously improving
interdisciplinary pharmaceutical care education, research, practice and service focused on the
health and wellbeing of underserved, rural, and Indigenous communities.
The mission of the Department of Pharmacy Practice is to provide clinical education that uses
evidence-based approaches to optimize the practice of pharmacy, deliver quality patient care,
and provide related services.
Department of pharmacy practice research students working in different Hospitals like Gauhati
Medical College, GNRC North Guwahati campus, B.Baroah Cancer hospitals, and Downtown
Hospitals.
The faculty and graduate students initiate and collaborate in research focusing on the
improvement of patient care and public health while incorporating current research findings
into daily practice.
Further to this the Department of Pharmacy Practice is working in the area of tribal welfare.
The Department of Pharmacy Practice is identified as Centre of Excellence (CoE) from
Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India
